Any tips on getting a good deal on buying cars?

I’m looking into buying a car here before the year ends. It might be different here but in the states, November and December are the months to buy a car as dealerships tend to put them on sale before they put the newer models. Also, I’m looking at buying a used car. No budget for a brand new one. Thanks for yalls time!
