Driving camp (運転合宿) recommendations with English support

Hi everyone!

I'm in Japan until May 20th, and within that time it'd be really nice to get a driver's license, for the purpose of converting it and using it upon my return to my home country. Back home there's a very long wait for a driving test, so I like the system here where you can do all your classes in two weeks. I've been through quite a few Google searches, but there are an overwhelming number of options.

Does anyone here have any recommendations for/good experiences with specific driving camps? If possible, I would like to attend in January before the spring vacation rush of students.

  • Single room would be nice
  • Japanese-wise, I am able to communicate with my monolingual colleagues normally, but am somewhat slow reading kanji – I just about failed my last N1 practice test

    • Therefore, I would be fine with a course fully in Japanese, but would prefer a place where I could ask questions in English if needed
    • A fully English course would also be good

I did a search in the subreddit and found this post, so I inquired with Maebashi Driving School, but their next free classes "for foreign customers" (regardless of language of instruction) are in mid-April.

Thank you for your time and assistance!
