Moving to Japan while keeping EU ETFs

I am an EU resident and I use IBKR to invest in Vanguard ETFs like Lifestrategy80 and VWCE. I will soon move to Japan with a working visa and ideally I would like to keep these ETFs (either continuing investing in them, or alternatively I would be fine to keep them without being forced to liquidate).
These ETFs are domiciled in EU stock exchanges.
IBKR first told me that I could keep them by transferring them to their Japanese entity and later told me I would need to liquidate them.

Any legal way in which I can keep these ETFs while living in Japan, either through another international broker, or a broker who allows Japanese residents to open an account (I read there might be in Singapore)?

Any help or recommendations would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks!
