The survey was conducted in August and September by the Tokyo-based Ashinaga Foundation, an organization supporting children who have lost their parents due to illness or a disaster or have parents with disabilities, targeting guardians of 3,487 households receiving the foundation's high school scholarships, using both online and postal methods. The preliminary results analyzed responses from 1,447 households that answered online.
