I’m getting my very first apartment and considering whether to get optical fiber internet. SoftBank told me it might cost ¥32,000 for installation (if the cables need work), plus ¥1,700 per month for router rental, and ¥4,200 per month with the auto-renewal plan (or ¥1,200 more without it).
I’m not sure if that’s a good deal, or if I should just go with GTN’s plug-in Wi-Fi, which costs ¥4,200 per month and doesn’t require installation. I work remotely and often upload and download large gigabyte files, so speed and reliability are important.
Are there any other companies or better deals you’d recommend?
