Special Diet session to pick new Japan PM eyed for Oct. 20 at earliest

The session had previously been planned for around Oct. 15 following Takaichi's victory in the party's leadership race on Saturday.

But the date is likely to be pushed back as the LDP and its junior coalition partner, the Komeito party, are still discussing whether and how to maintain their coalition.
