The Japanese immigration points system lists "Acquisition of a degree from a Japanese institution of higher education" as a way to earn an extra 10 bonus points. I know no Japanese aside from a few basic phrases to survive as a tourist, but for immigration, I'd want to attempt achieve N2 level by studying Japanese as a full-time student for 2 years. I'm currently 24 and doing a master's engineering program, so I wouldn't mind going off to learn Japanese after graduating or after getting a job and working for some years. I saw this post where the OP found two Japanese colleges (Kansai College of Business and Languages and Fukuoka Foreign Language College) that offer 2-year diploma programs as opposed to the certificates offered by non-university Japanese language schools. So, would these 2-year college language diploma programs qualify as "acquiring a degree from a Japanese institution of higher education?"
