Hey guys, so my husband and I are going to Okayama for his conference. We are flying from Haneda to Okayama on early morning of 19th Nov. and for day 1 we are thinking of catching the bullet train to Hiroshima for a day trip so. So day 1 is sorted (advice on how to make the best out of a day trip to Hiroshima is also welcome) but I need help filling the gaps of our itinerary for the rest of the trip.
We have booked a hotel within 5 min walking distance of Okayama Station.
My husband has his presentation on Nov. 21, so I have the whole day to fill by myself. I have divided the activities by AM (9-12 am) and PM (1-5pm) with lunch in between. Keep in mind most places here close at 5 pm (museums gardens etc) so that’s why the limit is 5 pm for now. Please take a look and advise me what to do for the gaps/question marks.
Day: 1, Nov. 19
Land in Okayama >bullet train to Hiroshima>spend the whole day>back in evening
Day 2: Nov. 20
AM: korakuen garden + okayama crow castle
PM: Handayama Botanical Garden (? not sure if we want to go both a garden and a botanical garden, specially on the same day)
Day 3: Nov. 21, solo
AM: cycling through Kibi plains by myself
PM: Museums (?planning to hitting some museums like Yumeji but I would also like any other options)
Day 4: Nov. 22
AM: Kurashiki Bikan quarter
PM: Washuzan
We fly back from Okayama on Nov 22 late night
Any and all suggestions are welcome to fill in some gaps or your experience in Okayama, how to better arrange the itinerary etc
I have seen a lot other options that are a bit further away from Okayama like Bitchu Matsuyama Castel, the art islands from Uno port etc. please tell me which is places are worth it and which is not.
What I want: not big into shopping aside from some general souvenirs, more into sightseeing especially with the autumn foliage, don’t mind walking/cycling
