Need advice on salary negotiation if moving Japan

Hi everyone,

I’m currently based in India and working as a Senior Software Engineer, earning around ₹38 lakhs per annum (fixed). I’ve been getting some interest from companies in Japan (Tokyo area), but I have no real idea what a fair or equivalent salary would look like in those markets.

I’m trying to understand:

What would be a comparable or competitive salary for my experience level in Japan?

How much should I negotiate for if I want to maintain or improve my current standard of living?

Any advice on cost of living, taxes, and savings potential in both countries would be really helpful too.
