Hello everyone!
I am planning my first trip ever to Japan, and I will be going with my partner for about ten days. We decided to only visit Tokyo as we are on budget but also I feel like there are so many things to explore there.
My plan for those vacations is mainly to explore in depth a specific area every day, without rushing. I’d rather spend one day exploring the depths of Shibuya rather than trying to check off every tourist spots and end up exhausted.
I would like to know if my itinerary flows well, and also asking for little gems to explore that I might have skipped during my research!
DAY 0 – Arrival in the afternoon
– Checking in the hotel in Shinjuku
– If we’re not too tired, we’ll walk around Kabuchiko as our hotel is close to this area
– Rest
DAY 1 – Exploring Shinjuku
Taking it easy in case we’re still jet lagged
– Shin-Okubu
– Going to Kabuchiko again
DAY 2 – Harajuku & Shibuya
– Meiji Shrine in the morning
– Visiting Harajuku in the middle of the day: Takeshita street, Ura Harajuku, Omotesando
– Moving to Shibuya in the afternoon: Pokémon center, Nintendo sky, MUJI, MODI, Mega Don Quijote, Shibuya109
– Shibuya Sky
– Center Gai
I might split that day into two as it looks like they are a lot of places to check within Shibuya
DAY 3 – Tokyo & Ginza
– Tokyo Imperial Palace in the morning: East Gardens, Kanda Myojin shrine
– Going to Ginza in the afternoon
DAY 4 – Ueno & Akihabara
– Ueno Park
– Visiting Akihabara in the afternoon: especially looking forward to Don Quijote
DAY 5 – Minato, Roppongi, Akasaka
– Teamlab borderless in the morning
– Roppongi in the afternoon: open air observation deck on the Mori Tower
– Akasaka in the evening
DAY 6 – Asakusa
– Senso-ji temple in the morning
– Kappabashi to check knives
– Ameyoko
– Maybe go to one of those museums: Tokyo National Museum, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the National Science Museum or the National Museum for Western Art
– If we couldn’t book for Shibuya Sky, go to Tokyo Skytree
I know we have 9 full days, so I’m leaving some days empty as I will probably arrange some days. I am open to any suggestions, criticisms and recommendations!
Thank you!
