The two students used a school key to enter the classroom, took the classmate's water bottle from their locker, and added about three packets of the sleep aid Melatobel to the drink in the bathroom.
…A different student who entered the bathroom witnessed the scene, and the homeroom teacher disposed of the contaminated drink after learning about the situation. The two students reportedly said they "wanted to mess with" the classmate.
…So far, interviews with students have not found any evidence of bullying or conflict between the two students and the targeted child.
