So without divulging a lot of personal information, I’ve been offered a job abroad in Osaka for a year and some change. I’m incredibly excited and have been dying for the opportunity! In my career field, I’ve lived and worked in many different regions in the USA, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
As for logistics, I have a bachelor’s degree and many things like travel, visa, furnished housing, transportation, taxes etc are taken care of by the company.
I’m mostly asking to those who know what I could prepare for on the lifestyle front! I have a few months in preparation, so it seems like language prep is the most prescient matter (though my company is mostly English speaking).
But I’d love some insider knowledge on transitioning from a mostly metropolitan USA lifestyle to Osaka— namely; app recommendations, some foibles and no-nos you could warn me about, anything that could help the transition go smoother!
