I’m thinking about moving to Japan to work as a chef in the restaurant industry on a Tokutei Ginou (SSW1) visa.
A few questions:
Has anyone gotten Japanese citizenship on SSW1 without upgrading to SSW2? I don’t have a bachelor’s degree.
How hard is it to upgrade from SSW1 → SSW2 as a chef?
Has anyone actually managed this switch in the cooking/restaurant field?
Also, how difficult is it to find a job in this industry on SSW1?
Alsooo, I don’t have a bachelor’s degree and only have a little cooking experience. My Japanese is around N3, but I plan to study up to N2. Do I still have a realistic chance to get a Tokutei Ginou visa and work as a chef under these conditions? Any advice would be appreciated!
Will I be able to obtain citizenship after 5 years of work on a SSW1 visa and 2 years in a language school?
