Got a visit from management because of my toddler’s footsteps… what should i do?

hello everyone.. I just needed to vent.
Today, the management staff came to our door about a noise complaint, saying there were loud footsteps. I told him my toddler was sleeping, so it couldn’t have been us. He said sorry and left, but then came back to say it happens at night.

What’s frustrating is that this isn’t even the first time. The day after our first night here, a neighbor came by around 5:40 p.m. to complain about “loud footsteps.” We were literally just watching a movie while my toddler lay next to us drinking his milk.

We live on the 2nd floor, we use puzzle mats, and there are several other families here with small kids too. But now, every time my son plays in the living room, I get anxious. Most of the time I keep him on the bed watching TV just to avoid complaints. Of course, he still runs around sometimes, he’s a toddler, that’s what toddlers do, but I really do try to keep the noise down.

And now… this. 😔

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of situation? How do you handle it without constantly worrying about your kid just being a kid?

I’m tired of walking on eggshells (literally and emotionally) over normal toddler sounds. He’s just a kid. I wish people would understand that.
