My apartment contract ends on December 24th. It's my fault but I assumed that the management company would send me a contract renewal letter as in the previous apartments I rented. Well, they sent it a few days ago but the letter says that I should check the contract terms for the appropriate notice if I don't want to renew. I checked the contract and unfortunately it says that I need to give them 2 months notice if I want to cancel. I cancelled today through their website and I received an email saying that I need to pay cancellation fees (rent + management fee) until January 11th. Anyone knows if there are any laws on my side to fight this or should I just suck it up and pay?
