Background:
A guy has been living in Japan for almost 10 years, 5+ years professionally. Has maintained points of 80+ for over 2 years. But he has a past record of driving without a license (7 years ago) and paid a fine for that, no jail time. He's got a proper license now for over 3 years with clean record. All taxes paid on time. He's on a 5 year work visa.
Question:
Is there anyone who's been in a similar situation and still got a permanent residency in Japan? Or is all hope lost for him?
