Hello ! I’m planning a March trip and would like feedback on pacing and travel flow. I’ve reviewed Japan-Guide and other resources and have outlined what I plan to do each day. I’m mainly interested in food, history, and neighborhoods (not nightlife).
Day-by-Day Plan
Day 1 (Arrival): Land at Haneda → shinkansen to Fukuoka → check-in → evening walk around Hakata + yatai stalls.
Day 2 (Fukuoka): Ohori Park → Fukuoka Castle Ruins → Tochoji Temple → Canal City → Kushida Shrine → dinner around Nakasu.
Day 3 (Hiroshima Day Trip): Train to Hiroshima → Peace Memorial Museum → A-Bomb Dome → lunch okonomiyaki → ferry to Miyajima → Itsukushima Shrine → return to Fukuoka.
Day 4 (Transit to Kyoto): Morning train to Himeji → tour Himeji Castle + Koko-en → continue to Kyoto → evening around Gion.
Day 5 (Kyoto): Kiyomizu-dera → Sannenzaka/Ninenzaka → Yasaka Shrine → Maruyama Park → Nishiki Market.
Day 6 (Kyoto): Fushimi Inari early → Tofukuji → Sanjusangendo → Higashiyama area walk.
Day 7 (Nara Day Trip): Todaiji → Nara Park → Kasuga Taisha → return to Kyoto → Pontocho in the evening.
Day 8 (Kyoto): Arashiyama (bamboo grove / Tenryuji / maybe Sagano train if timing works) → return and explore Philosopher’s Path.
Day 9 (To Osaka): Train to Osaka → Osaka Castle exterior grounds → check-in → Dotonbori / Shinsekai food crawl.
Day 10 (Osaka): Kuromon Market → Umeda Sky Building → Nakazakicho neighborhood walk.
Day 11 (Osaka): Day for either Shinsekai, Sumiyoshi Taisha, or just flexible exploring.
Day 12 (To Tokyo): Train to Tokyo → check-in → explore Shinjuku/Shibuya area on foot.
Days 13–18 (Tokyo, 7 nights):
Plan to divide time between Asakusa, Ueno, Yanaka, Meiji Shrine/Yoyogi, Tsukiji outer market, Odaiba, and one optional day trip (likely Kamakura or Nikko).
when it comes to the 3-4 first days do you guys think it's doable or it will be too rushed ?
