New LDP President Sanae Takaichi meets with party adviser Taro Aso on party executive personnel matters; coordination is underway to appoint General Affairs Chairman Shunichi Suzuki to key positions such as secretary-general

New LDP President Sanae Takaichi went to LDP party headquarters to start working on appointments for her cabinet. She met with former PM Aso who supported her in the election. Speculation is that she is consulting him about appointments for her cabinet.

Takaichi has been coordinating to appoint Shunichi Suzuki, chairman of the General Affairs Committee and a member of the Aso faction who is close to Aso, to a key position such as secretary-general.

In addition, she has hinted at appointing the four candidates who competed in the presidential election to important posts in the government and party.
