I have been working in this Haken project since last September with my contract renewed every 3 months. My current contract is till December 2025. But the renewal or cancellation is supposed to happen Nov end.
I want to end this contract and have been saying so for the past 3 months. My Haken company keeps dragging it on because the client is okay with the project renewal. My reasons for cancellation are the project tech (not very advanced, lot of no code tool stuff), i would like to use my CS degree for more. And also I live in a small town now, so would like to get out of here too.
I have communicated these requests to my sales people for a while, but its just dragged on (as client is priority). But now I got firm about cancelling, and asked to look for new projects which I can start in Jan. They are saying that the project needs to be decided 30 days before contract ends, else renew and then look for new projects. Seems like they will keep doing this.
If I cancel my contract now, and don't have a project in Jan, I am entitled to 60% salary (bare minimum to cover rent, insurance, taxes and essential expenses). But they are threatening me with 0% salary if I cancel this and don't have a project in Jan by calling it personal leave. Can they do this? Any labour laws to support me?
