I’m studying abroad in Korea rn and the program I’m in had an optional Japan trip which is next week. I registered at the time bc money wasn’t an issue and the budget I had planned for the semester was reasonable. However, an incident happened that involved my laptop and iPad being completely fucked so I had to drop like $2200 to get that all replaced.
Very unideal.
I don’t wanna just not go to Japan because I’ve already paid the fee and it’s nonrefundable, but I’m nervous bc we still have a month and a half left in the semester and I’ll be in Korea all through Winter break with no funds coming in until early January.
That said, I obviously want to keep a tight budget. The only thing I’ll need to actually pay for is food bc accommodations, travel, and some tourist stuff have already been provided by the fee. It sucks that I can’t do all the things I originally planned, but I’ll still be going to Japan which I’m incredibly grateful and priveleged for.
But I wanna make sure I’m remaining as economical as possible. I’ll be in Tokyo all four days, fly in on Thursday afternoon around 12 and depart Sunday evening around 2pm.
Dinner is provided the first night, breakfast is provided every morning (I’m pretty sure).
I don’t eat a ton, and can probably do fine with a meal a day and a couple snacks.
