I work in a Japanese company since November last year as a 正社員 with engineer visa. I just received an offer from another company to start April next year.
I could stay in my current company until March and just directly start working for the new one in April. However im thinking of resigning in February and taking a 1-2 month break in between for myself, essentially being unemployed.
Question is, would a period of unemployment like that pose a problem with my visa? I know during that period I need to register and pay the NHI and nenkin myself, but do I need to notify immigration immediately after resigning or can I just notify them after starting my new job in April?
