Nippon TV checked validity of Takaichi’s remarks that “foreign tourists are attacking deer”

TL;DR Nippon TV noted that in recent years, videos of deer being mistreated in Nara Park have been circulating on social media. After reviewing several such clips, however, Nippon TV could not confirm that any of them involved foreign tourists.

To investigate further, Nippon TV went to Nara Park to validate if foreigners were actually kicking deer as was said by LDP presidential candidate Takaichi. Nippon TV, however, did not witness any foreign tourists harming the deer.

When the network asked Takaichi for confirmation about her statement, she replied that she saw a English speaking kicking a deer when a man teased a deer when feeding it, and the deer stepped on his foot. She further replied that it's unfortunate that her statement was mistook to target foreign tourists.
