Give it to me straight – how hard will moving be?

So I want to move to Japan. I have a partner over there but I'm not really seeking to rely on them, I want to be completely independent.

I'm currently in the UK and I've been living off of disability for a cocktail of physical and mental things that should, soon, hopefully, fingers crossed, be somewhat taken care of. Because of these, I've got no notable experience with schooling or work.

The moment I get a job in the UK, I'll lose disability, and jobs in my area with my experience probably won't pay enough for me to afford rent and bills, so then I'd be homeless. So I hoped I could rip the band-aid off by finding a job in Japan and moving over there, but that's definitely a bit hasty.

I don't really have any noteworthy skills or abilities – I know very little Japanese and I know nobody but the one person. I can draw and have taken commissions in the past to supplement income, but probably in part to the rise of GenAI I haven't had a commission in about a year now.

Sounds fucking dire obviously, so I want opinions on how actually feasible it would be if I worked hard at it. Giving up is always an option, but obviously I want things to work out.
