I applied online for an SMBC Gold NL last night, and received my rejection today.
Can anyone shed any insight into what I’ve done wrong? I am 25 years old, have healthy savings and am on a 10M¥+ salary with a reputable company. I have a bank account with Prestia. I have a 5 year visa on an Engineer etc. status of residence.
This is the first credit card I have applied for in Japan so I imagine that could be the deciding factor yet I’m disappointed as I had hope to take advantage of the NISA cashback ASAP.
What is the best way for me to proceed? Should I attempt to apply for Gold cards with other companies then try again with SMBC in half a year or so?
