With the announcement of Okada being Tanahashi’s “Final Opponent” on January 4th in the Tokyo Dome, I was wondering what was everyone’s personal favorite encounter between the two?
For me, there are 3 matches that stand out the most for my personal enjoyment; those are King of Pro Wrestling 2013, where Tana decided to use some old-school trickery to try to dethrone Okada, leading to the audience actually booing Tana for said trickery; Wrestle Kingdom 9, where I was so sure Okada was gonna get his big win only for Tana to deny him, leaving the Rainmaker in tears; then there is Wrestling Dontaku 2018, where Tana is desperate to stop Okada from breaking his V11 record, only for the gap between the two to be fully exposed.
