Thank you so much for your help in advance.
My wife and I will be travelling to Japan from Idaho this next November and need some help deciding if we should go to Okinawa or not.
I had been originally planned on not going because of the travel time and didn't want to take the days from other cities but my wife has recently seen many videos about Okinawa and now wants to go.
I don't think it will be worth it to just go of a day but please let me know if I am wrong.
Our current Itenary is for 17 days, we will land on November 8th 2026 and fly home November 24th 2026
As I had previously planned it;
Tokyo 8th-12th
We have many things we want to do there from the street carts, all the team lab things, shopping, shrines and we plan to stay in Shibuya
Hakone 12th-13th
We will be staying at a ryoken with a on suite private one and we will be doing the hakone rope way
Kyoto 13th-16th
Not sure where we will be staying but we will be spending out days visiting shrines and exploring the city and maybe a day trip to Nara from either here or Osaka
Osaka 16th-19th
Not sure where we will be staying but here we want to do the aquarium and dotonbori. As well as umeda sky and just everything in the city
Hiroshima 19th-21st
We plan to stay near peace memorial park. I want to see the atomic dome the park as well as the Mazda museum and maybe a day trip to Miyajima. When we are Hiroshima my parents also will be landing and enjoying the rest of the trip with us
Then back to Tokyo 21st-24th
I think on this part we will stay in Shinjuku. I planned to Tokyo portion so we don't get too overwhelmed and can reevaluate what we ant to do when we go back. We also want to spend time with my parents in Tokyo but didn't want to spend all out time in Tokyo with them. My mother loves pigs so we plan to go to a micro pig cafe
We will fly home on the 24th
So tell me what you think. Should we change the itinerary to make some time in Okinawa? Or is the itinerary we have good? And if you have any other opinions on out trip please share them!

If we were to go we would only fly in spend a day and the night and fly back on the second day. We will not be renting a car.
If we do go we are hoping to go to the beach and do some snorkeling as well as some cultural things.
Let me know if this is something we should do or not.
