Dentist Advice Needed

Hello everyone,

Last week I had a hole appearing in my tooth so I went to a dentist in Himeji who said I needed a root canal and a crown. He recommended the crowns not covered by insurance, starting from 60000 yen to 110000 yen. That is crazy expensive compared to my home country, which I will be visiting next month.

I consulted my dentist back home and he told me to just get the root canal treatment without the crown which I can get during my vacation. But I don't know what to tell the dentist here? He already started and drilled half of the tooth off (without much explaining about what he will do). And now I just have a temporary filling with sharp edged tooth.

I know I can just get the insurance-covered crown and then change it, but my country's dentist advised against that as it can further damage the tooth when removed.

Please advise and tell me would you do in a similar situation.
