For context, I recently rented an apartment for business purposes. My Japanese employee set up the utilities using the service the rental management company recommended. We have already had the gas company come out and inspect, and all the utilities are turned on. I am now getting calls from 0120-prefix numbers. I know that the 0120 prefix is a toll free prefix used by companies. It seems like when I get calls from these, it's usually one utility/gas company trying to get me to switch or consolidate services. They always call around 9 or 10 in the morning, which is inconvenient for me. My Japanese is still not very good, so I have been just ignoring the calls. I have my kids' school phone numbers stored, so I'm not worried about missing an important call in that regard. I believe most official government communications come via mail.
Is there anything I might be missing? Is there a reason I should answer these calls, other than to practice my Japanese phone skills?
