[Countryside Japan] In need of advice on life in Japan in the countryside

For some backstory, I (F20) recently moved to Shikoku Japan on a WHV in end of July. my boyfriend lives there and is going to school hence why I went to Shikoku. I don’t know much Japanese and finally got a job through connections after 3 months.

Any other foreigners living in a countryside part of Japan, did you struggle making friends or getting a job. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice because I am struggling to fight boredom as my boyfriend goes to school during the week 9-4 and I literally have no clue what to do here
