I'm 32 M living in Bengaluru with wife, no kids.
A mechanical engineer with 10+ years of experience.Currently working for a MNC Auto OEM.
Current CTC ~3.5M Yen. Take home after tax is ~250k per month (considering yearly bonus)
I have been offered a salary of 8M Yen. For an engineering services company. The location is ~2 hours from Tokyo. I don't want to share the exact location to avoid any issues with the prospective employer. But a decent 1 LDK in that is around 80-100k Yen.
I'm otherwise happy with my current employer and somewhat neutral about living abroad.
I've been working for the same team for the last 4 years so I recently started looking at internal job postings to get exposure in different areas.
I understand that the decision can depend on a lot of factors, but does it make sence financially?
Right now I get offers ranging from 4.5-5M Yen in india.
I expect to get a promotion within the next year, with 25-30% additional hike. I've gotten 10% to 12% every year with my current employer in india. The japanese employer mentioned YoY increment can be between 2-5%.
Finally, my wife is not working and she doesn't intend to find any work there.
Please let me know from your experience wheather it makes any sense financially and if not then how much should I ask for?
- Changed indian currencies to Yen as some of you mentioned that it's hard to convert.
