ATM loud beeping noise.

Been living here for a couple years. I've only ever used ATMs specifically for my bank or the 7/11 ATM. A few times, I've used my bank specific ATM and as the money is ready to grab, a loud, sharp beeping noise happens. It usually only lasts for 2 to 3 beeps then disappears. It sounds like an anti burglar alarm as opposed to the 'don't forget to take your card' beep it usually does.

It only ever happens once the tray opens for me to take my money. It only beeps. I can still take my money no problem. I've already taken back my bank card and receipt. Today I was using an ATM in a row of many at a train station. The beeping happened and the Japanese guy using the next ATM laughed. In hindsight I should've asked him if he knew what it meant. Instead I just took my money and walked off shaken.

Anyone know what it means? It sounds like they think I'm robbing the machine. Scares the crap out of me every time it happens.
