Recency bias may paint Keiji Mutoh as the top guy of the 90’s but Shinya Hashimoto was the TRUE “Ace” of that period.


Hashimoto was response for the most sellouts of big Dome and Stadium shows by a wrestler, I believe.

Hashimoto also held the IWGO defense record at V9 for a most a decade, before it was broken by Yuji Nagata’s V10 (and Tanahashi’s V11 and Okada’s V12, subsequently). Hash also held the longest day-reign with the IWGP at 489 days, which wasn’t broken until Okada’s 720-day reign.
