I Hi everyone, I’m moving to Japan soon and I hope to bring my cat along. But I’ve just realised the process will likely include a quarantine period of almost 2 months (or at least a long waiting period) and I’m looking for people who have done this before to ask a few questions.
From what I’ve found at the Animal Quarantine Service (AQS) site of Japan, the inspection itself is free, but the importer is responsible for transportation to the quarantine facility, care during the quarantine period, electricity & water etc.. 
Has anyone here brought a cat (or dog) into Japan with a long wait/quarantine? How expensive was it?
I’m coming from a non-designated country (Chile) and getting the tests done right now, My cat should be quarantined for at least 50-60 days
Thanks in advance for any help and sharing of your experience. I really want my cat to be with me in Japan, so the more info I can gather, the better.
