I'm looking for recommendations on shops selling the good stuff: not just run of the mill bottles etc
Any good spot?
EDIT: Lots of sailors and pirates! Thank you all for the recommendations !

Only slightly above run of the mill, but Liquor Mountain Ginza 777 offers tastings from a wide variety, nothing too rare but generally a solid selection, while I’ll go to the Yaesu Hasegawa Liquors for something I’ll be giving as present. They offer tastings as well, but of course not on everything. This is where I might go to grab Smith and Cross for example.
Also possibly Shinanoya shops.
Shinanoya for sure.
In addition to the already mentioned Shinanoya and Yamaya, a larger Aeon Liquor location may have something. I’ve never checked one for rum, but they have some interesting bottles a lot of the time.
The Aeon Liquor in Aeon-Style Himonya is quite large.
There’s a large Yamaya and a new decently sized Aeon Liquor near Omori Station.
Yokosuka base.
But seriously this is a great bar for trying some rum. https://maps.app.goo.gl/kpoqvhzLycRtQ9uh6?g_st=ipc
I love shinanoya
Somewhere in the lower floors of Isetan they have a few boutiquey spirit shops. I’ve got some unusual rum from them before.
Sorry, but don’t you mean ‘rum of the mill?’
I actually find sourcing bottles on Amazon to be very useful. Costco from time to time has no interesting rums.
when all else fails, I turn to the masters!

Yup, ordering something internationally might be the only way to get what you want. I usually put in one order a year.
