Looking for advice on my 14 day itinerary

Hello,

My friends and I will be traveling to Japan about 2ish years from now. I’m trying to loosely begin planning to make sure nothing feels too rushed etc. It would be a 14 day itinerary however I am open to adding some more time too, if everything is too rushed or removing things.

I really want to make sure we catch the tourist spots for everyone’s first time in Japan but leave plenty of time for them to get lost, explore and have a blast just enjoying and taking Japan in.

I wanted to ask first:

1.      How busy is it in Kyoto and Tokyo during Mid-October to End November?

2.      How is the current itinerary for 14 days in Japan?

I’m slightly worried about maybe having too many day trips on my current list. I’m wondering if some should be removed or if a 21 day itinerary may be better suited?

Thank you anyone for reading this, I know its a bit long. Thank you!
