Very small insects on wooden box

Hi, this evening, as I was about to grab the hair dryer to dry my hair, and I noticed some tiny white balls moving around on the dryer and inside the wooden box that holds it.

Could these be mites? Is there a way to remove them or control them to prevent them from coming out? Can I still use the hair dryer?

In 7 years of living here this is the first time I've seen them
