Mercari JP – Browse and purchase outside JP?

Hello!

I am currently residing in Japan and my brother instructed me to create a Mercari account to order some Pokemon cards.

I already got my account verified and I just want to know if its okay that he use my account to browse and order stuff to be sent to me here?

He is in a different country so I'm curious if my account could get restricted for being accessed outside JP.

  1. Goes against TOS.

    If Mercari doesn’t notice.. probably not an issue.

    If they do? Probably an account ban.

  2. I think this if he’s logging in from outside Japan, you risk getting your account banned & not being able to use Mercari JP at all. They may detect suspicious activity due to the logins coming from abroad.

    Probably the better thing to do would be for him to browse the site without logging in. If there’s something he wants, he can send you the link and then you can order it on your own account.

  3. Just have him browse without account and have him send you the links so you can purchase for him. Not worth the risk of getting permabanned.

  4. If hes placing the order from overseas you’ll probably get banned before long.
    The other solution of sending the links to you and having you order solves that, but then you will basically have to be paying attention to all his orders. If he is only after a coyple of things then its fine but if hes going to be prdering regularly just tell him to use one of the proxy platforms

  5. Absolutely do not share the account with anyone, especially outside of Japan. Quick way to get the account banned and any future accounts you would create banned.

  7. I sell on Mercari and occasionally get stuff bought from proxy services like Buyee. Also there are sites that let you browse and buy stuff from Japanese sellers. Tell your brother to look into doing that instead of getting you to do it for him. That way he can have it posted to himself instead of having you send it on to him.
