I live in the Takano area, and for the past couple months have been seeing wild deer almost every day, usually along the river. They're usually in groups of 4-8, though I found 15 last week! What's surprised me is the location – I often see them pretty far south (ie. south of Kitaoji).
Most people I've mentioned this to have been surprised – are any of you noticing deer around the city as well? Can't find much info online (though in all fairness my Japanese ability is limited) – is this a pretty new phenomenon?
Sorry for the rambling post but am just curious to hear if anyone's been having similar experiences?
