Hair salon / Hair dye recommendations for dye that does not dry your hair

HI!

I’ve been dying my hair dark red for a few years.
I have brown, wavy hair, and quite sensitive to bleach.

I’ve been to about 5 different salons in the last year that I’ve lived here. Every time I dyed it, my hair got worse, even though it’s “without bleaching”. About 80% of my hair has split ends, and even tho I take good care of it with the fitting products, it’s still dry, esp after appointments. Back in my country, the dyes were dark, and didn’t have a strong smell. Here, they’re bright (even tho it’s dark red dye) and have a VERY STRONG chemical smell.

I’m thinking about buying a hair dye that won’t ruin my hair, maybe a western brand that they also sell in Japan. If someone had a similar experience and found a good salon that has long lasting hair dye and minimal damage,
