During our recent travels, I was inspired by the critically-acclaimed movie "Perfect Days" to visit the central location where it was filmed. Yoyogi-Hachimangu Shrine is situated in Tokyo near Yoyogi Park.
The serene shrine grounds, where the protagonist spent his lunch breaks immersed in nature and photographing trees, was magical. It is a hidden gem lost in the city center. The only visitors we encountered were locals who came to give their prayers.
Those who have seen the movie will recognize the amazing public toilets created under the Tokyo Toilet project. There are a total of 17 such toilets, each designed by a famous architect. We managed to visit a few as pictured here.
