Hello Reddit world. Myself (29F) and my fiancé (31M) have our working holiday visas and are planning on moving to the Matsumoto/Nagano area in March 2026. Have I left it too late to start looking for a job? I’ve applied for some here and there on LinkedIn but I never hear back – probably because I can only speak conversational Japanese.
I currently work as a lawyer (I have a Bachelor of Laws) and my fiancé has a Science degree. Is applying for an eikaiwa the only way to go? I’d love to continue my career over there but unless I magically wake up speaking fluent Japanese that’s not gunna happen. I’ve been considering ECC hoping they would accept us but unsure even then. At this rate I’d probably prefer an ALT position because I don’t want to be working myself into the ground whilst I’m supposed to be enjoying life over there.
If anyone has any tips on where to find a job/how they did it that would be really helpful!
