I am a 19 year old second year uni student from the UK (dual citizen mexico & UK if thats relevant, but go to a UK university) and have applied for a year abroad to Japan and it’s highly likely it will get accepted. I’m not sure about the application process for a visa but I was told by a friend who is also going for a year abroad to Japan next year that you cannot enter Japan after applying for your student visa because they ask if you have been to Japan (I have not) and if you answer no, but then go before your visa starts it would invalidate the application (as the answer would now be yes)
Is this true? Is there any way around this? Our favorite music group announced they are breaking up and we wanted to visit Japan for their last show which will be sometime before we arrive there as students.
