Hello, I would like to confirm the required documents for my Permanent Residency (PR) application.
I completed my PhD in Japan from 2019–2022, then left Japan for about one and a half years. I returned to Japan again in late January 2024 as a dependent and lived in Nara for about 9 months. In September 2024, I moved to Osaka and have been working there since then.
I contacted the ward office in Nara, but they informed me that they do not have any taxation records for me, because I arrived in late January and left within the same year, so no tax data was generated for that period.
I would like to clarify the following points:
1. Do I need to obtain any tax-related documents (such as a tax certificate or taxation/non-taxation certificate) from the previous Nara ward office, even though they say no records exist?
Or is it sufficient to submit only the documents from my current municipality in Osaka?
2. Regarding pension (Nenkin) records, should I submit my full pension history from my student period (before I left Japan), or only the contribution records from the period after I returned to Japan in 2024?
I would appreciate your guidance on which specific documents are required and from which municipalities.
Thank you very much.
