Is this actually true?
I am reading Haruki Murakami and in his novels are tones of casual sex scenes that are preceded by actaully not flirting at all. Example:
“It was already daytime. By then, the moment had come for the tall one to catch her train, so we offered the rest of the sake to a homeless man who was in the underpass at the west exit of Shinjuku Station, bought the tickets, and said goodbye to her. When the train disappeared from sight, the small one and I, without any invitation being needed, went into a hotel. Neither of us particularly felt like sleeping together, but it was the only way to put a definitive end to the whole thing.”

Is this (or was it in the 70s/80s/90s) a reality in Japan or just japanish writers are obsesed with sex and out of reality?
Thank you for answering me!
