It’s kind of stunning that engineers didn’t think about it . Especially Kawaramachi Kyoto bus stop is full of fumes (many buses lining up ) as they blow the exhaust to the pedestrian walk side . I filed a report to Kyoto City but no response yet . Anyway I normally take train but sometimes taking a bus is unavoidable (and those buses are cute otherwise ). When I had to give some courses at EPFL Switzerland to engineer students I already realized they have no clue about biology or the human organism . Wouldn’t m it be the time to make sure those folks THINK? But anyway it’s more a japan problem – I haven’t seen wrongly co figured buses in the U.S. or Europe . Kyoto is anyway trapped between mountains and often has air pollution . But folks could do better and at least make sure bus passengers are safe . It must be horrible for asthma folks .
