  1. “Japanese sovereignty shall be limited to the islands of Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Shikoku and such minor islands as we determine.”

Unless anyone has their fingers crossed, obviously.

  2. James Brown has no idea what he’s talking about; it’s better to keep fools like that away from the media. Japanese sanctions against Russia are much softer than the European ones; moreover, Japan continues to buy gas and maintain its presence in the Sakhalin-2 project, not to mention that many Japanese companies continue to operate in Russia. Literally this month there was discussion about a possible resumption of direct flights between Russia and Japan.

The main problem with the islands was that Japan cannot guarantee the absence of US military bases there, and that hasn’t gone away. The most one can realistically count on is joint development and visa-free visits.

  3. Might as well. If the plan is to get as much attention as possible, you shouldn’t forget that.
