I am a British citizen living in the UK. My wife is Japanese and currently living in Japan. I am planning on applying for a spousal visa in the near future, and would like to do the Certificate of Eligibility application in person with my wife while visiting Japan on a visa-exempt short stay. I won't be in the country for more than a couple of weeks, so not planning on trying to switch status of residence while still in the country.
My question is about how to fill in the 'past entry into / departure from Japan' on the application form. I'm not really sure whether it's best to put 現在 (now/present) into the departure date, since that will be the case on the day I submit the application, or to fill in the planned departure date (perhaps with a 予定 (planned) next to it), since it's likely I will be out of the country by the time anyone looks at it.
Maybe I'm just splitting hairs, but I gather they are quite strict about travel history, so I want to get it right.
