So, I'm an American citizen and always have been, but was homeschooled from kindergarten up until what would have been my senior year of high school. I'm currently working on finishing my GED before going to college, however I never attended traditional schooling. Today someone seriously mentioned being an English teacher in Japan temporarily and then returning to America, so I decided to entertain the thought and look into the requirements. I see on the visa application it mentions having "12 years of English Education" on top of the bachelors.
So I'm curious if having the GED and bachelors would be sufficient for the potential application down the road, or if because I was not in K-12 I would automatically be disqualified from application. Thank you for reading!
PS: I should mention that I have read up on life as an English teacher in Japan before, and am well aware it's not all sunshine and rainbows. I'm also aware I'm thinking many years down the road, but I'm just pondering the thought lol.
