MMoving to Japan

Central(ish) Tokyo Neighborhoods

I'm moving in Feb/March. I will be making 11,000,000 jpy gross base salary, but also have RSUs vesting through the year that put me towards 35,000,000 jpy. (I do not intend to live off the RSUs; they are for savings and emergencies).

I have done a lot of Google and YouTube "research" looking at neighborhoods. My job is located in Shinagawa.

My lifestyle preferences, in priority order, are:

  1. I like walking and seeing people going about their day.

  2. I like coffee shops and little, casual food stalls. Especially street food, ramen, and udon.

  3. I like access to green areas such as parks.

As for an apartment, I'm looking for something:

  1. Modern with some sound protection. I don't want to bother the neighbors.

  2. Small is fine. 1ldk is more than enough. Access is more important.

  3. Looking to spend maybe 350,000 jpy on rent

From my aforementioned "research" seems like the neighborhoods of Nakameguro and Ebisu are prime spots that fit this. What else should I be considering? Yoyogi area?
