conditional admission

Hi everyone,

I’m a high school student , and I’m planning to apply to Japanese universities for an undergraduate degree (specifically Informatics / Computer Science).

I’ve heard that some international students receive conditional admission, then complete a 1-year Japanese language preparatory course before entering the degree program.

My questions are:

  1. Do national universities like Nagoya, Osaka, or Kyoto University actually offer conditional admission for students who plan to study Japanese first?
  2. What is the correct application route for this?
  3. Is JLPT required at the time of application, or only after finishing the language program?
  4. If anyone has gone through this pathway, I would love to hear about your experience.

Thanks in advance!
